I had the fried catfish and grits with a side of collard greens for breakfast at Lucille’s in Houston’s Museum District.

The catfish and grits were the highlight. The ambience was comfortable and relaxed, and street parking was easy to find (they also have their own lot).

The service, at least at my table, could have been better. I would’ve appreciated a bit more attentiveness and personality, especially since nearby tables seemed to be receiving a more lively experience.

With all of the accolades Lucille’s has earned, my expectations were high, so that part felt slightly underwhelming.

Still, I enjoyed the food and the overall atmosphere. I would return and would recommend it to others.
