I recently visited Le Jardinier to try their chef’s seasonal lunch menu, Taste of Summer. This was my second visit, and I was again pleased by the food, hospitality, and atmosphere. View my review of their Taste of Winter menu here.

The Taste of Summer is a four-course chef’s menu priced at $90. The first course was Whipped Burrata with stone fruits, pecan gremolata, basil, and Iberico ham. It was a creamy, fruity opening with a salty, nutty counterpoint. The second course, Parisian Gnocchi, came with summer squash, chanterelles, basil purée, and a hint of truffle. It tasted great. For the third course, the Atlantic Salmon arrived with almond romesco, artichokes, shaved fennel, and smoked trout roe. It was bright, textural, and well-balanced between richness and acidity. To finish, a mille-feuille-style mascarpone lemon cake with raspberry compote provided a bright, slightly tart conclusion that rounded out the meal nicely.
